Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position is under the general supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor.

This position is identified as a sensitive position and may be responsible for receiving personal bills or performing tasks involving high level of trust.   This position requires a background screening including fingerprinting.  This position is identified as a key custodian for designated areas.  Position will adhere to the Information Security Policies and Procedures

 Interview clients for FDOH Walton program eligibility following information security policies and procedures for all health department programs.  Obtain vital information for patients/client integration in HMC system. Input demographics, financial data, and record information in HMS system for reports and patient care. Verify incomes and information for completeness and accuracy. Verify Medicaid eligibility using FMMIS. Prepare patient records according to policies and procedures. Determine eligibility for Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women for women with positive pregnancy test following the Medicaid/PEPW guidelines. Complete applications using the Florida System to generate immediate temporary Medicaid.

Provide clerical support to Family Planning and Maternal Health programs of the Walton CHD. Maintain smooth clinic flow by adhering to the daily appointment schedule. Retrieve and prepare medical charts for clinic sessions adhering to records management guidelines. Verify/update patient/client information for HMS database. Obtain/verify Medicaid, Medicare and/or third-party insurance information from clients. Check patient's/client’s financial statements for necessary updates and forward for interview or interview as appropriate. Provide routine information to Prenatal and Family Planning patients/clients regarding appointments, programs, clinic schedules, procedure, etc. Assist and refer patients/clients to other community agencies/services as needed. Prepare and process medical release forms as requested adhering to records management guidelines. Provide follow-up of patients/clients who do not show for prenatal appointments. Assist non-English-speaking clients with scheduling appointments and communication during scheduled appointment. Obtain medical records of all prenatal clients for outside facilities with prenatal and scan clinical documents.

Complete all reports, including EAR within require time frame. Duty during disater required including work for irregular and indeterminate periods of time. Other assigned duties as  needed to support clinic operations. Will be assigned purchasing card responsiblities related to travel. Assigned purchasing card responsibilities and adheres to purchasing card policies and procedures

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Average computer skills ability to successfully multitask, ability to set priorities, ability to manage a telephone. Strong communication skills. Strong Organization skills, Ability to work well with others, is customer service oriented, able to communicate fluently with Spanish speaking clients.

Qualifications:

Minimum – 12 months customer service experience, computer skills, communication skills, the bilingual ability to speak Spanish fluently. Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License

Preferred- 1+ year customer service experience, speaks Spanish fluently, computer skills, communication skills, Florida Driver’s License
